At Venturelab, we try to be gardeners of the companies we work with. Gardening is, in our view, to help place a plant in the right environment, and then providing the plant with the necessary nutrients for it to grow. One of the nutrients may be a new investor from our network, another may be the first customer. 

Some plants need lots of tending to, and others will grow through concrete. We look for the ones that are somewhere in between because that is where our contribution can have the most positive impact.
